Ecclesiastical
Sculpture remained until the modern times essentially religious and retained from its origins a special power of charm, much more so since it requires from those, who are devoted to it, a long apprenticeship, which has all the elements of initiation: great patience, sensitivity to the touch and the soul, but also a strong eye and physical strength, qualities that make the common man see a creator in the face of the sculptor.
The sculptor Nikos Georgiou works with passion applying all the rules of handmade marble sculpture, with a deep knowledge of the Byzantine traditional art. By passionately sculpting into the marble the wise morphological codes of the Byzantine tradition, he transforms the marble into forms that connote and elevate the Christian faith.
