History

Sculpture has been in my life since I realized the world.

My father IOANNIS AL. GEORGIOU 1931-2007, was born in Athens, in the Mets district, where there are many marble and sculpture workshops.
From a young age he showed interest in art and so as a teenager, he entered the workshop of the sculptor Evryviadis Lampaditis from the island of Tinos, son of the sculptor Ioannis Lampaditis (1856 - 1920).
There he finds his natural space and destination, delves into the art of portraiture and marble carving and becomes one of the best Modern Greek portraitists.
In the early 1960s he received from his elderly now teacher the torch of the knowledge of traditional marble carving. With respect to the rules of the sculpture art, he has created many works such as statues, war memorials, monuments, ecclesiastical, etc.
Many marble workers studied and worked in his workshop, some of whom later worked on the maintenance and restoration of the monuments of the Acropolis of Athens.
IOANNIS AL. GEORGIOU, was awarded by the Sculpture Association of Greece for his contribution to art.
