Grave Monuments
A monument is a marble work of art, which is usually sculpted or embossed, intended to honor and remind of a certain person, or a family, or an event.
The most common forms are the Christian marble tomb or the column with a base.
The burial monuments are framed by a bust of the deceased person or by embossed portraits, with ornate crosses, carved gates, embossed flowers, candles, vases, etc.
The monument may have a marble or metal plate with an inscription.
